There are a few products I love so much I can’t bear to take them off my countertop, which is saying something because I like to keep my bathroom countertops as tidy as possible… all the time. However, I’m also a creature of convenience, and I reach for these items too much to ever put them properly away. So there they sit - contently on my counter. I love them all for different reasons, and they are…
If you live in a hot, humid climate, you need this. This “foil” spray gives you a LOT of frizz control, and I haven’t found a better one, short of getting a smoothing treatment (like a Brazilian Blowout). The directions say to spray it on dry, styled hair, which I’ve done, and it worked “well," but my stylist went out on a limb and tried this on my wet hair. WOW… that got some great results. We used it liberally on my towel-dry hair (by fluffing and spraying at the same time) and through the drying/styling process. I was impressed at how it helped smooth the hair as we went through the blowout, but I was more impressed with how well it stayed once I left and went into the atmosphere of Houston, TX. Whenever people compliment my hair, I tell them to go and get this product!
One of my top five favorite beauty products of all time. I’ve been wearing tinted moisturizer for the better part of the last two decades, so I’ve got some research time under my belt. I like to apply it with my fingers, as opposed to using a brush, and it glides on smoothly and quickly. I think it helps brighten and even out my skin tone plus it gives me a some SPF for the day. If I’ve got a few extra minutes, I’ll add concealer, brush on a touch of Mattifying Powder to set it, and done. By the end of the day, I think I’m looking just as good as I started, well my face at least (ha!). It never dries out my complexion, and every day it feels like I’m using a little mini-treatment. (PS - there’s a lovely gentle cleanser hiding in the background.)
I’m picky about what I put on my lips. Since just about everything enters your system through your mouth, I think it’s important to keep your lip care products toxin-free. Beautycounter offers two options - Peppermint and Calendula, and it’s a toss-up as to which I prefer. Both give a big boost of moisture, soften my lips, and stay with me for a while. When I first put it on, I don’t find myself needing to reapply until mid-morning - and that's with lots of little kid kissing! Also, this is going to last a WHILE! I can use the same pot of conditioner for around three months, and that’s with frequent use too!
If you're in the market for a solid cuticle, look no more. Sometimes oils are too "oily" for me. I know they're so good for my nails and cuticles, but I don't always like the feeling. I find the OPI version to be incredibly effective without the overly oily feeling. I like that it's fast drying, and works quickly to repair the damaged from my overly washed, slightly tired hands.
These must-haves have been on my countertop for the last several months, and if you decide to give them a whirl, I hope you love them as much as I do! Also, if you've got any must-haves of your own... DO SHARE!
